1993-1998                   Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Utah State University.  Research areas: Structure and function studies on the metalloenzymes nitrogenase and hydrogenase.

1989-1993                   Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Leonard E. Mortenson, University of Georgia.  Research area: Mapping the sites of MgATP interaction with nitrogenase from Azotobacter vinelandii by site-directed mutagenesis.

1983-1989                   Ph.D. Research Assistant in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel J. Arp, University of California, Riverside.  Research area: Purification and characterization of the membrane-bound hydrogenase from Azotobacter vinelandii.

1981-1983                     Undergraduate research in the laboratory of Dr. Stephen Dietrich, University of Redlands, California.  Research area: Synthesis and screening of novel sulfonamide inhibitors of carbonic anhydrase as potential anticonvulsant drugs.
